Frequently asked questions
Which image formats are supported?
JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC are all supported. HEIC photos from iPhone are converted to JPG automatically before recognition.
Can it read handwriting?
Clear, neat handwriting is usually recognised well. Stylised, cursive or low-contrast handwriting may be partial — printed text always gives the best accuracy.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, up to 10 MB per image. Larger photos are automatically resized in your browser before being sent for recognition.
What is OCR?
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is the process of converting an image of text — like a photo, scan or screenshot — into a string of characters you can copy, search, edit and translate.
